How To Create and Assign an Activity

Create and assign activities to your students!

  1. Open the Activities tab.
  2. Click on Create My First Activity button or New Activity button.
  3. Select a classroom to assign the activity to or click continue with no classroom.
  4. Enter a topic or objective or leave it blank and click Continue.
  5. Choose the activity you like and click Generate Now.
  6. Review and Edit the activity as needed.
  7. Click Save.

* Note: These features use AI to draft the text for a student activity, for the grade(s) and subject(s) of your choice, as well as to align it with the reading program or curriculum standards (if any) that are applicable. Please read about our Stance on AI for more insight into how this works. Or, you can choose to skip the use of AI and enter your own text from scratch.

Also note: Once an activity is overdue it will be available to the students for 3 more days, after this they no longer have the option to create or assign a comic to the activity.


To begin, click on the My Activities tab at the top.If you don't have any Activities created yet then click on the Create My First Activity button. Once you create them, the Activities will come up under this tab.Use the dropdown menu to select the class you want to assign the activity to, or click " Continue with no classroom" if you want to do that later.Enter a topic, or leave it blank and click "Continue".Click the checkbox to enable or disable the curriculum standards option. The activity maker will automatically generate activity suggestions aligned to standards and reading programs based on subject, grade level and location. The activity maker will suggest 3 activities with curriculum standards alignment. Click Generate Now below the activity you want to start editing. Now you can edit the title, a summary of the activity and the instructions that will come up for the students in the comic maker.Here you can edit writing prompts, vocabulary words, limit the number of panels, limit the content available. and attach a remixable comic as a template for the students.Click on the Details button below to edit it further.Next you can choose whether to include a rubric, assign to a class and set a due date. You can go back and forth on these steps. When you're ready, click Save.On the right side you'll see other related resources to enrich the activity.You can assign the same Activity to another class by opening the 3 dot menu at the top and duplicate the activity. Then assign the new copy to another class. You can also Archive or Delete the activity from this menu.Once you save, the activity will show in the My Activities tab. Red activities are active, black activities don't have a due date set and purple activities have expired.
